Lil Mama made her way to The Breakfast Club on Power 105, which is following up her infamous interview from almost 5 years ago. After crying during her first interview, the singer came back with a force, speaking on the incident that turned her into a viral Internet meme, as well as a slew of other topics. Let’s just say that it took a very odd turn.
Check out what Lil Mama said on the Breakfast Club on the following pages.
Lil Mama goes back to the Breakfast Club
“On a serious note, the reason why I got emotional is because I was talking about my mother. And at the time, I hadn’t really come out about how I felt about it. I went through a phase where in that moment when I came to talk to y’all, that was the first time I ever sat down with a group of people and discussed it…I posted mine [her The Breakfast Club meme] because when I posted mines, it was one of those things where I was able to relate to the comedy around it. I wasn’t even looking at it like ‘Oh, it’s sad that I lost my mom and I was crying. There’s a meme.’ I wasn’t that deep into it at that moment.”
Charlamagne refused to give her an apology for making fun of her crying during the original interview
“I don’t think there’s anything to apologize for. It was jokes,” he told her. Lil Mama accepted that he was not going to give her an apology, and admitted that it was Angela Yee who actually made her cry by bringing up her mother.
