The success from Lil Wayne’s debut album encouraged him to keep working harder at his craft. While enjoying the success from his debut album, Lil Wayne still toured and literally spent hours in the studio making sure that his next album would be just as good as his debut.

Lil Wayne’s hard work began to pay off in the early 2000’s. The rapper was becoming a household name and was well known for his rocker like image. Lil Wayne also saw mainstream success with his super popular hit “Lollipop” off his Carter III album. This song hit peaks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and sold over 4 million copies. Lil Wayne was becoming a household name.

In 2008, Lil Wayne’s whole album Tha Carter III debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Lil Wayne was becoming a bonafide hitmaker. Everything the rapper touched turned to gold! In 2011, Lil Wayne achieved a goal that no single artist had ever done before. He held 12 concurrent singles on the Billboard’s Hot 100. This was huge!
