The Cast of the ‘Dope’ Movie Reveal The First Hip Hop Album They Bought

Dope, the new independent film directed by Rick Famuyiwa, is causing a lot of buzz and its scheduled to hit theaters on June 19th. The film, featuring rapper A$AP Rocky and co-produced by Pharrell Williams and Puff Daddy, it is based on a group of high-school kids in Los Angeles, California who are immersed with the hip hop culture and music in the early 90’s.

The cast from Dope recently sat down with XXL and revealed the first hip hop album they ever bought. Kiersey Clemons who plays “Diggy” admits that the first hip hop album she bought was Outkast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Amin Joseph reveals the first hip hop album he ever owned was an old Public Enemy CD, whereas Blake Anderson says that Ice Cube’s Predator was his first album. Supermodel Chanel Iman said either a Bow Wow or Lil Romeo CD was her first hip hop recor and Shameik Moore says that his first album was A$AP Rocky’s At.Long.Last.A$AP. Director Rick Famuyiwa revealed his age when he admits that his first album he ever purchased was Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Posse On Broadway.
