Hip Hop Community Shows Support for Michael Brown/Ferguson Missouri Shooting

Over the past week, tensions has continually mounted as the black community rallies in the town of Ferguson Missouri, where unarmed teen, Michael Brown was gunned down by a local police officer and left face-down in the streets for  hours for all to see.

Certain rappers have since then been actively outspoken via social media displaying their anger and disappointment of the recent events.

Within days, droves of citizens descended upon the town to show support and to get answers from the police department who has since then named Darren Wilson as the officer responsible for the deadly shooting. During the protest efforts this past Wednesday night, protestors clashed with police prompting the Mayor to call in a “State of Emergency”

With Hip Hop having its root in social inequalities, racial injustice and predigest, Many Rappers have voiced their condolences for Brown’s family, their outrage at the situation, their desire for More answers and prayers for peace. Here’s what they had to say

As the drama ensues, more and more rappers and celebrities alike are speaking out against the recent strings of violence against unarmed black men and especially black teens.  Some have even compared it to the 1965 Watts Riots.

Swift Action and Judgment are amongst the many cries of the  justifiably angry citizens of St. Louis, Missouri.

The Hip Hop community stands in solidarity with the family, friends and all those affected by the slayings of  Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Amadou Diallo, John Crawford and Dante Parker just to name a few.
