Not a fan one bit.
For the past several years, influential figures in the hip hop community have been vocal about their support for Black Lives Matter. We’ve witnessed T.I., J.Cole, Macklemore and more attend rallies and provide a helping hand to the movement in need of dire support. While a bevy of emcees have showed love, one in particular is against the entire movement and what it stands for.
Kevin Gates destroys the Black Lives Matter campaign
Last week, Kevin Gates absolutely desecrated the Black Lives Matter movement for several reasons. For one, Gates blames African Americans for failing to take accountability when speaking on black-on-black crimes. “We kill each other, but as soon as a white boy kills one of us, everybody go to hoopin’ and hollerin’ and all that old stupid-ass sh*t,” the 30-year-old rapper said in a one-minute long video post.
KG wants people to “stand for something all the way”
Gates continued his lengthy diatribe by urging people to stop stutter-stepping when standing behind a movement. “When you stand for something, you’ve got the stand for it all the way, not half way,” he said.
Then, he vividly illustrated the lengths to which black people commit violence each other. “We kill each other. I’m talking about we lay up under each other’s cars, lay behind each other’s houses then whip by — BOOM BOOM — kill everybody in the car.”
This isn’t the first time Kevin Gates spoke out against his race
Back in February, Kevin Gates’ candor was once again on display, when he was interviewed by ShayDiddy TV. During his interview, he revealed his alliance to Stacy Dash regarding the matter of whether BET (Black Entertainment Television) should even exist.
“If she said that, then I feel like I agree with that,” Gates said. “They got these people out here talking about ‘Black Lives Matter!’ Man, all lives matter.”
