FDT = F**k Donald Trump
Donald Trump gets no love from the black community. And after last night’s debate, well, let’s just say that, that just adds to the many reasons Trump won’t be getting the black vote. The hip-hop community alone has been very vocal in speaking their true feelings on Trump. But they aren’t just speaking about it, they’re doing something about it.
Rappers and members of the hip-hop community have been stepping up in coming together to make sure that every person participates in this year’s election. From tweeting out their concerns to ranting on Instagram videos to performing “I f**king hate you, Donald Trump” monologues on national talk shows, the members of the hip-hop community are not afraid to let you know who they are NOT voting for.
Before he succumbed to beefs with Drake and The Game, Meek Mill stated that he was onto Donald Trump, calling him a racist last year. He tweeted, “It’s clear @realdonaldtrump been racist..saying our “African American president” it’s plain to see! We won’t miss u when u perish!” He followed up with a tweet about men Trump’s age having similar mentalities.
On his 2015 track, “Free Enterprise,” Rozay raps, “Assassinate Trump like I’m Zimmerman / Now accept these words as they came from Eminem.” But it wasn’t a threat. Rozay cleared that up, saying that he wouldn’t literally assassinate Trump nor does he suggest anyone should. But he did mean take him down lyrically, like Eminem does his opponents.
As if his “F**k Donald Trump (FDT)” single wasn’t enough, YG launched the same-titled tour back in September. During his show he invites audience members up to take a wack at a Donald Trump piñata. He also gives registered voters discounted mercy, in which the proceeds go to families affected by police brutality. And in some cities, he hosts a presidential election panel discussion.
