Good on him.
Aw, shucks. You don’t have to be a fan of Wiz Khalifa, but you can’t hate on his reaction to being asked to freestyle about his ex-wife Amber Rose. While chatting it up as part of his visit to 92.3 in Los Angeles, the rapper was blindsided by a request to rap about the mother of his son. Even if you grew tired of Wiz’s “Ain’t weed grand?” shtick, his wholesome bars are sure to make you smile.
Over the beat from Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like,” the rapper absolutely refused to play into the station’s attempt to stir up controversy for clicks.
“I don’t want no drama,” he began. “Why you gotta bring up my baby mama?” He continued on the same tack until the freestyle was over.
“I still love her, she love me too,” he said. “You think I’ma talk bad about her you’re through.”
No Love Lost
Wiz is clearly a student of the “what goes on in this house, stays in this house” school of relationships. If anyone asks him how Amber is, dollars to donuts his answer is always going to be “fine.” That’s commendable in an age when so many rappers and celebrities are willing to air out all their dirty laundry for a few eyeballs swinging in their direction.
It’s good to hear that Wiz and Amber have kept things civil, even as Wiz’s mother is bringing a civil suit against Rose. The issue is a phone call that Amber Rose made to an associate of Khalifa’s mother, Katie Wimbush-Polk. Mama Khalifa claims that Amber disparaged her, calling her an unfit mother and harming her reputation.
Via Hip Hop My Way‘s reporting at the time of the lawsuit:
“The suit [says] that Rose claimed Wimbush-Polk was responsible for the death of her young son Dorien. The brother to rapper Wiz Khalifa passed away this February due to complications from lymphoma.
Wimbush-Polk’s lawsuit claims that the alleged conversation ‘imputed criminality,’ which the suit goes on to say is ‘incompatible with her status as a grandmother and her status as a volunteer mentoring at-risk youth.’”
However, the legal action hasn’t seemed to put a dent in Khalifa’s feelings for his ex.

Perhaps that’s warranted, as Amber has proven that she’s willing to defend anyone who will stick up for her. Amber Rose goes to the mat for the people she cares about. She recently had to defend her current man 21 Savage after the internet dragged him for supporting her at her annual SlutWalk.
“How the f**k is my man not a savage anymore?” Rose said, addressing people who accused Savage of being soft for carrying a sign that said “I’m A Hoe, Too.” “Do y’all want him to pistol whip me? Beat me up? Shoot up the SlutWalk? Like what the f**k do y’all want?”
Rose is fiercely loyal, and it looks like Khalifa would rather keep that loyalty than get called out like she did Kanye. Nobody wants to be called a “fingers in the booty a*s b*tch” for a plug on a radio show.
Check out the freestyle up top. What do you think? We all know they aren’t the best bars, but does that matter when it’s something this sweet? Sound off in the comments and don’t forget to SHARE this article.
