One upside to society’s attachment to smartphones is that someone is always recording at the right time. A downside to the incessant need to get everything on camera is that it’s distracting… dangerously distracting. For example:
A fan was so busy trying to snap a picture of Waka Flocka that she was almost hit by a car. Luckily, the rapper was paying attention. Look at #GodsPlanChallenge making its way around.
Born Juaquin James Malphurs, Waka leaped into action when a female fan of his was nearly run over in oncoming traffic.
While the “No Hands” rapper was visiting New Orleans for the city’s annual Mardi Gras festivities, a gang of fans spotted him walking down Bourbon Street. The onlookers surrounded the star as they all walked down the street together, with one fan towards the back of the crowd recording their celebrity encounter.
The clip starts as Waka and his fan posse near an intersection.
Excited, one admirer attempted to walk alongside Waka while taking pictures. The unnamed women took a few steps too many and got in the way of a moving cab. Luckily, Waka was there to pull her back just in time. He grabbed the fan, pushing her back on to the side walk.
Even more luckily, it was all caught on video.
Also caught on video was the string of kind-hearted acts Drake did as part of his music video for “God’s Plan.” The Canadian rapper walked into a local Miami grocery store and bought all its shoppers groceries. He donated $25k to Miami Senior High School and gave the students new uniforms. Then, he walked on to University of Miami’s campus and donated $50,000 to a student for her tuition.
He reportedly gave away nearly a million dollars when it was all said and done. Drake and his video — which the artist dubbed “the most important thing I have ever done in my career” — threw #GodsPlanChallenge into action. On his Instagram story, he challenged everyone to spread some love.
