Waka tells all
Waka Flocka opened up to Twitter about his falling out with his former partner Gucci Mane. He told his fans on social media that this would be the last time he would speak on their beef, so fans made sure to make their questions count.
“You & gucci together is & was my favorite music. what made y’all fall off?” asked user @supatkelli. Was there beef? Do you think you’ll ever make music together again? ”
Waka said their relationship ended after Gucci made a business decision to sell the Brick Squad name without consulting him. He also said that Gucci’s autobiography was “full of lies.”
“Honestly He sold the name Brick Squad to the label,” Waka said. “He just dropped a book full of lies no cap. The fans happy for gucc but Atlanta and the day1’z know it’s bigCap.”
Fans asked why Waka didn’t try and get a hold of Gucci when he was locked away.
“Write: I’m not writing no damn letter lol frfr Visit: name wasn’t on the list Answer calls: That’s big cap,” he said. “I was making Gucci 20-30k a month on Facebook real s**t K know or better yet did he know…?”
He added that he was never paid for his massive hit single “No Hands.”
“Never seen a dollar,” he said.
That being said he’s not entirely negative about the rapper and said that nothing would happen if they ran into each other while out and about. A fan asked for his thoughts on Gucci’s healthy transformation and his new album. He said “only a hater” could feel some type of way about Gucci’s new life.
He said the new album was produced by his team of producers, so he loved it.
“[Fire] but my producers did his whole album but Flocka a hater crown me later,” he wrote.
At It Again
It’s not the first time that Waka has gone round and round with someone on social media this year. After Flocka made some comments about the way that the older generation treats younger rappers, Pete Rock went in on Waka.
“You’re not equal. Be as disrespectful as you want. You’re not doing what we did, haven’t accomplished what we accomplished. Our generation didn’t experiment with pills or syrup or anything synthetic. It’s already written in history. Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Hip Hop Hall of Fame and museums. Where are you at in any of that?”
“In my opinion, being a music maker, there is no substance to the music of lyrics,” he added. “So, don’t get mad because you’re not cut from the cloth of hip-hop pioneers,” he said. “Just make better music and spit like an MC.”
Waka accused Pete of trying to be relevant again.
“That n**ga Pete Rock really trying to get a new career off me.” he said. “You a f**king OG. Why you disrespecting me, man? Damn, that’s sad, my n**ga.”
He added that Pete is mad because he didn’t make the right decisions to set himself up in spite of being in on the ground floor of hip-hop.
“You should be running Interscope, Def Jam, Sony, bah bah bah, this that, but you’re not because you’re not a f**king good businessman,” he said. “Putting words together sounding clever, but not making clever moves.”
