Fans are starting to suspect that Young Money Entertainment rapper Tyga is having money trouble. After being blasted for failing to pay a fan’s injury judgment — which was reached against him in 2016 in favor of a fan who had her head split open by a falling light stand at a concert in Grand Rapids — the artist is being highlighted for having his five-year-old son King Cairo’s name on a lease… that he wasn’t doing a great job at paying.
According to a recent lawsuit, between Tyga and Simon Cowell’s ex-fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy, the “Rack City” artist hasn’t paid his rent in months.
Born Michael Ray Stevenson, Tyga is currently renting a Beverly Hills home from Simon Cowell’s makeup artist, who he once planned to marry. The rapper reportedly moved into the residence in March of last year, then stopped paying the monthly $40k rent in January.
Since Tyga allegedly hasn’t even tried to catch up on his payments, Hussainy is suing for his eviction and her back rent. Listed as “other defendants” is King Cario, the rapper’s 5-year-old toddler whom he shares with Blac Chyna.
Around January is when Tyga’s Los Angeles based store Last Kings was robbed, which is consistent with the controversy the store has seemingly always carried with it.
As HipHopMyWay previously reported: Tyga’s one-time business partner Chuon Gen Lee accused the rapper of lifting the entire brand from her and then welching on an agreement the pair had to split the proceeds from the label. She sued Tyga for $1.6 million and won. The amount Tyga owes has since been pushed up to $2 million because the rapper hasn’t paid his debts.
According to TMZ, Lee sued again and claimed that Tyga is hiding his profits from the company via a series of shell companies. Lee said that Tyga is bringing in nearly $450K a month and hiding it via clever accounting tricks to keep from having to pay his outstanding debts.
Still, given the sheer amount that Tyga owes and the number of directions he owes it in, we might have to consider the fact that Tyga just simply doesn’t have the cash.
The star was recently hit with a bill for $186,275 after a landlord alleged that he trashed a space rented out for the Last Kings line. The landlord successfully sued the rapper for damaging the property after he found the place abandoned with ink stains all over the concrete floor. He said that Tyga and Co. had painted the ceiling and doors with Egyptian iconography before bouncing on the place. He also said that Tyga and his crew had poured ink into the drains that led into a public sewer, which is an environmental hazard.
He alleged that the damage came to $75,000 and with an additional five months unpaid rent, he successfully sued his former tenant for nearly $200k. Tyga tried to argue that the building wasn’t up to code, but the judge wasn’t having it.
As if two lawsuits weren’t enough, Tyga got caught up in another one after an associate of his allegedly manhandled a process server. Not to mention that he recently settled another lawsuit over a $200,000 jewelry debt.
