While he’s not one of the biggest names in the rap game right now, Troy Ave seems to always find a way to get his name in the headlines for reasons that aren’t always so good. At least, he’s in the headlines; all publicity is good publicity, right?
This time around he’s the one putting his name up in lights, and he’s saying some pretty controversial things… like he’s the next Tupac?? Come on, Troy.
You might not have heard of him, but Troy Ave is an active rapper from Brooklyn, New York. The 31-year-old has been around for a while; his first studio album New York City: The Album debuted at 47 on the US Billboard Top Albums chart.
Troy isn’t in the headlines for his music, but for his comparing himself to Tupac. It seems highly unlikely, considering the popularity level he’s at…
Troy Ave sat down with The Breakfast Club (because all great stories nowadays seem to start with The Breakfast Club) to discuss his views on modern culture and, of course, his music. While everyone in the music game tends to have (and should have) that ‘I’m the best around” attitude, Troy got a little too cocky.
“I go in the motherf***n’ clubs and n****s go crazy. Oh s**t that’s Troy Ave, it’s the second coming of Tupac, it’s Newpac,” he claimed.
