Ouu! That's intense.
According to Teyana Taylor, her sex-life has been a lot less sexy recently. The recording artist – who married her husband, Sacramento Kings forward Iman Shumpert, in 2016 – says that her and her man have to “plan it out” beforehand.
Of course, “that is just parenthood.” During an interview with Page Six, the “Do Not Disturb” singer proved to be highly-relatable to mothers everywhere, sharing that her young daughter keeps her from romping in the sheets as much as she’d like.
Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr., 2, “falls asleep on my head,” the star told Page Six. “Even if Iman kisses me, she will move my face and kiss him, then she will bring me and his head together and we will do a three-way kiss — she has to be involved.”
It’s not the x-rated night-life story one would expect from Teyana and Iman, especially after their steamy shower scene in Kanye West’s music video for “Fade.”
“That was the closest that Iman and I got to doing anything that night. When we got home, Junie was c**k-blocking, she did not let us do anything. Do not let the shower scenes fool you! Don’t get it twisted — when we get it in, we get it in good — but when Junie is around, we can kiss that goodbye,” the singer-songwriter revealed.
Teyana went on to say that before the birth of their first child together, they were getting “it in good” everyday. Now, with their attention being pulled in a different direction, it’s not so easy. The 27-year-parents “can’t complain” though.
“Pre-Junie s*x was every day. Post-Junie, Mama is tired. I would be down, Mama and Papa had to go to work. Junie did not want to go to sleep, and one thing I will not do is make love in front of my baby,” the mom-of-one stated. “Junie has a room, but she likes to sleep with us. Now we have to plan it out. That is just parenthood. We can’t complain.”
Fans will really get to see the Shumpert family in action once Teyana & Iman kicks up. The VH1 series, which debuts March 26, will follow the couple, detailing their daily routines in work and home-life.
Meet the Shumperts
“Everything happened the complete opposite way. First, we were pregnant. Then, he proposed. And then, we had the baby, and then we got married in the bathroom where she was born,” the artist says in the show’s preview. “And now we have a family. The love of our life is our daughter.”
The show is creating a ton of buzz on social media. “Absolutely catching #Teyana&Iman #thereality show. How adorably authentic are these 2?” wrote one Twitter user. “Can’t front I’m hyped to see black love on #teyana&iman,” tweeted another.
“Teyana&Iman I’m so here for it and I CANT F**KIBT WAIT #Teyana&Iman,” added a fan.
According to Teyana — who has been an influential part of the entertainment industry since 2007 — Teyana & Iman “is real life” and “raw reality.” “We are a positive black family that have their issues but still work through it,” she continued.
