In the early seasons of Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, drama unfolded between best friends Teairra Mari and Hazel-E. Changing them from true friends to frenemies, the rift between the pair began after Hazel-E accused Teairra of going after her “man” Yung Berg.
The accusations began after Yung Berg and “Sponsor” singer Teairra Mari got in the studio together to do a song, sending Hazel into a frenzy and her and Teairra’s friendship into a downward spiral. While Hazel and Berg weren’t officially dating, as said by Berg himself, Hazel-E felt totally disrespected, proclaiming that Teairra wasn’t living by the girl code.
Possibly trying to salvage her relationship with her friend, Teairra never admitted to her indiscretion with the rapper. However, Berg let the cat out of the bag during Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood part two of Season 1’s Reunion Special, saying that they shared a moment together. Not too long after that, Berg admitted to regretting his decision to expose their behind-closed-doors activities. “I feel horrible for even saying that, but at the end of the day … I was pressured into saying that,” he claimed in 2014.
Regardless of who felt bad about what… Since then, Teairra and the “Actin Up” singer’s relationship has been hot and cold, with Hazel constantly bashing Teairra.
Years later, the beef between Teairra and Hazel has escalated so far that the two aren’t even frenemies… They flat out don’t mess with each other. According to Teairra, “She [Hazel] is the bottom of my shoe.”
Social Media Missteps
During an interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Teairra talked about everything from her music to her experience on Love & Hip Hop. She even gushed about her time in rehab.
Of course, hosts Jason Lee, Melyssa Ford, and Giovanni Watson coaxed the tea about Hazel-E out of her. The group discussed the recent backlash violently directed towards Hazel, after she boasted a highly controversial opinion about dark skinned women on Instagram.
In early October, Hazel posted a collage of pictures of darker skinned women, captioning the post:
“I see all you black ass bi–hes that hate me! Stop bleaching your skin, and fix the inside first and maybe all you h–s wouldn’t be so mad. Love the skin you in ladies… it’s takes a village to take me out, but what y’all fail to realize is I’m still on top, and none you bi–hes WILL EVER compare to me and be on my level. I got money in the streets, anybody lookin for a check hit me up. Bi–hes mad cuz they couldn’t pass the brown paper bag test. Yep I said It back on my business with my United Nations. Sorry mom you kept me away from these type of girls all my life, you said they would hate me because I’m light skin…you were right!”
After Melyssa asked Teairra about her initial thoughts on the post, the “Make Her Feel Good” singer confessed, “I thought she was higher than Tony Montana, and I believe that still now. You know… I thought she was on a cocaine binge.”
“And it happened like early in the morning, right? So, I felt like… They were like… up all night getting high or something. And then she did that,” she continued. “My reaction… I was apaulled. I was like ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe she would do that.'”
