Swizz Beats is currently calling out one of the biggest names in the fashion industry for apparently stealing his logo. The high-end fashion label Balenciaga recently revealed their new menswear lineup for spring and summer 2018 at the Paris Fashion Week, and it seems like they revealed something that had hip-hop fans on edge.
While revealing a ton of new articles of clothing and different accessories, the collection highlights of Balenciaga’s new line are nothing short of impressive. However, there was one shirt that seemed to grab everyone’s attention more than it should have.
The shirt in question had a logo on it that XXL Mag describes as having “extreme likeness to one of hip-hop’s most popular logos of all time.” The print of the shirt looks like it’s very similar to the Ruff Ryders official logo.
Swizz took to Instagram to talk about the incident, where he wrote: “@balenciag we must have a talk about this Ruff Ryder shirt AAP Dapper Dan with Gucci now this thoughts ?????? Blessings.”
He furthered things even more when he posted this image of the original Ruff Ryders logo from 2000 to his Instagram. He captioned the photo: “This is the Ruff Ryders original version from 2000 @balenciaga @vetements_official what we doing??? Call me back blessings. I might just want you to open up a fashion school in the bronx or harlem. Just so you can give back to the culture ! Thoughts???”
Over the years, Ruff Ryders Entertainment has been recognized as one of the best rap labels and movements ever. They signed rappers like DMX, The Lox, Eve, Drag-On, Swizz Beats and plenty more. The whole brand was able to make it’s mark on the rap industry as well as other business opportunities, and they still dominate in their own way today.
They even recently announced a 20th anniversary tour that will go across the United States starting in September of 2017.
