"You fired, Igor."
Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd has earned a lot of goodwill among clubgoers and gymgoers alike with two albums full of excellent hype music. But he torpedoed a bit of that goodwill when he pulled some rich boy b.s. And fired his personal driver on SnapChat.
Jxmmi took offense when the driver said that he didn’t want Jimmi and his crew to smoke in the car. So, he asked him his name while recording on SnapChat.
A Reason Why
After he gave his name as Igor, Jimmi told him several times that he was fired.
“Igor, you don’t believe you fired, do you?” Jimmi asked. “You fired, Igor. You fired.”
In addition to sending it out over SnapChat, Jimmi also tweeted the video out with the caption “Had to fire my uber driver he wouldn’t let me smoke in the car.”
The reactions of the people around him back up this story, with someone off-camera yelling “That’s some bullsh*t. We gotta get high, man!”
Not An Uber
While some fans thought the video was funny, many people thought the recording was disrespectful. Fans said that Jimmi had karmic retribution coming his way for being so rude to his driver.
After the backlash, Jimmi fully missed what was making people upset and clarified that his driver wasn’t an Uber driver.
It’s more than likely that Igor was a driver for a private car company and while Jimmi does have the ability to say he doesn’t want Igor to drive him, he doesn’t have any say in whether or not Igor gets to keep his job.
The same is true of Uber drivers, of course. Though, in that situation, riders do have some recourse against bad or rude drivers.
