Sneak peek, y'all!
Fans of Love & Hip Hop who were concerned about the program’s future after many of the cast members departed during the hiatus can stop sweating. VH1 just posted a sneak peek of their season premiere and it doesn’t look like the show has lost a beat. LHH is a moving train conducted by Mona Scott-Young and it makes no nevermind if people hop off — it’s going to reach its destination.
The season was previously reported by the gossip website Media Takeout to be a near complete overhaul, with very few returning stars. The gossip website claimed that the only people who are returning to the long-running Mona Scott program are Yandy Smith-Harris, Mariahlynn, Bianca Bonnie, Juliet “Juju” C., and Felicia “Snoop” Pearson. Turns out it’s not quite as bad as we thought.
Now, it looks like viewers will barely notice the difference as the VH1 show gets off and running in its eighth season. In the sneak peek, Remy Ma hosts a networking event, DJ Self introduces a new artist, and Safaree hops coasts to join the New York set.
Of course, fans of the program will miss their loudmouthed Bronx-bred idol who became a bit of a superstar in between seasons. It really is a shame that Cardi’s antics aren’t on the show any longer because she’s been stirring up quite a bit of trouble.
The rapper showed out after getting booted from a New York hotel for allegedly smoking weed. Cardi told the staff about themselves in an instantly viral video and then explained why she was so mad to her followers on social media.
“Now, if you know me, I don’t even talk about smoking weed because everybody knows that I do not smoke weed. I get very paranoid and none of my team members smoke weed. If they was to kick us out for something else, all right, but for weed? I’m not taking that because we do not smoke. I could get, we could all get drug-tested, nobody smokes. Nobody smokes, especially when I’m sleeping and I’m wild sick. You’re not going to do that to me. Mind you, everyone on the floor was Caucasian. But you wanna kick us out? F–k out of here. I will not.”

That’s not to say the new cast is slouching when it comes to drama. Remy Ma famously kicked off a beef with Nicki Minaj earlier this year and her longtime lover is back in New York. Expect some nonsense out of that camp.
Safaree also has beef with Meek Mill, who he claims had him jumped. As he explained in an episode of Everyday Struggle:
“The funny thing is I was waiting for my security. I see this dude or whatever and I got out to holler at him. I was out of the car for like 30 seconds.
I saw him come out personally. When I saw him come out, I’m just looking at him. By the time he stood out boom, I got hit. So I ran off where the car was parked at. I turned around to stop and look and see what’s going on. I see two people coming at me in the front and more people coming at me from the side. When I balled up and I was down by the car and i just felt n*ggas hitting me. All I saw was feet shuffling: boom, boom, boom. Then when I felt like I was able to break free, then I just took off.
I didn’t even realize what was happening. I went to a bar. I went and got a bottle. I went and got a knife. My boy when he came back, I didn’t even know he was fighting.”
