Ross and others mourned the loss
The MMG universe is mourning the death of long-time Rick Ross manager Black.
Ross himself broke the news of Black’s death during a party he was performing at during Art Basel. At the Miami show on Dec. 8, Ross lamented that Black couldn’t be at the party.
“This is an extremely sexy party,” he said. “I know my dog Black would’ve loved to be here. Come on let me rap for my dog Black one time.”
He played his breakout hit “Hustlin” in honor of the manager who has been with him from way back. He further expressed his thoughts on Instagram later.
“Everything is God’s timing. He called home a beautiful soul,” he said. ”My friend, business partner and My codefendant. He defined TRUST, HONESTY, LOYALTY not only to myself but everyone who met him. This is painful but we promised eachother 2 always remain strong.Until we meet again your words will replay a LIFETIME.”
Wale was just as torn up over the news. He said that he was having trouble comprehending the loss and shared how Black helped him.
“As the tears begin to chase each other down my face .. I️ try to combat the sadness of this new reality with the indelible memories u gave us,” he said. “Absolutely None of us have to try to think of the selflessness the genuine compassion and absolute loyalty for your friends you demonstrated daily.”
Wale said that Black helped him overcome his own doubts.
“I’m flawed and maybe I️ don’t even belong,” he said. “Maybe I️ never did. BUT because of you ,the insecurities and self doubt became as insignificant.”
“I️ could take 14 forevers and still never find the words that illustrate how much we love you . How much I️ love you .how much I️ need you. Your wisdom , composure an ear to listen a shoulder to cry on all things we foolishly tend to take for granted . May God be with your family and friends,” he added.
French Montana reached out to both Rick Ross and other people who knew Black. Underneath a photo of him and Black, the rapper extended condolences to his friends and family.
“My prayers go out to my brother @richforever and the rest of the family 💔 I know this one hurt 🙏🏼 I’m really hurt, shed a tear for u brother ! We going miss you black,” he said.

Another heartfelt outpouring came from Black’s daughter Nadaja. She shared some photos of the late manager and explained how they ended their relationship in the best possible way.
“One thing I️ won’t do, is question God. I️ just want to thank you for being the best dad ever. For teaching me to open my mouth and stand up for anything I️ believe in. You’ve told me to be strong about anything I’ve faced. Last week when you came to visit me, you just kept saying how you’re so proud of me and I’m living large up here in Orlando😂 I’m so happy we went on our last dinner date and the last words that we said to each other is ‘I️ love you.’ My dad was always the type to make sure everyone straight no matter what. You are a true King. My hero. My best friend. Most importantly, my father. I️ love you more than life itself, may you Rest In Peace”
