Shereé Whitfield was on cloud nine during the last episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta. The mom-of-three gushed about her inmate boyfriend, Tyrone Gilliams, possibly getting released early.
After being sentenced to 120 months on the inside behind securities fraud and wire fraud charges back in 2013, the former Penn basketball player has severed about half of his time and is ready to come home. In 2016, he challenged the legality of his lengthy sentence but was swiftly denied. So, at the start of 2018, he filed paperwork to get the challenge looked at again.
His reality star girlfriend was hopeful enough to speak on the news publicly… So, when Gilliams’ request was denied, Shereé was
informed reminded of the matter publicly.
According to Radar Online, the request informed the judge that Gilliams was not the “leader” of the Ponzi scheme, which attempted to illegally coax millions from investors. The docs also dragged the government’s behavior into questioning, claiming that it “improperly withheld” evidence, before calling Gilliams’ legal team “ineffective.”
More than that, Gilliams asked to be released on bail “during the pendency of federal habeas corpus proceedings.” However, U.S. District Judge Deborah A. Batts wasn’t feeling it. Batts denied the motion, citing the fact that no new evidence was presented as the cause for the declination.
The news was plastered on The Shade Room‘s Instagram page in the middle of the day (March 27). “On Sunday’s episode Sherre [sic] spoke with her man about building a ‘man cave’ in her home, but it looks like those plans are going to have to put on pause because Tyrone was denied early release,” the caption read in part.
Shereé, 48, and Gilliams, 51, will be collect calling it up for another few years. The jailbird reportedly won’t fly free until November 14, 2022.
The socialite hasn’t publicly responded to the news yet, but a few of her co-stars have. Nene Leaks slid under TSR‘s post, commenting, “Well I guess we know who the real lier [sic] is after all.” Her response clearly set off an alarm of sorts because Kim Zolciak came running shortly afterwards.
“Learn on how to spell LIAR!!” Kim clapped back. “Your whole life is a lie.”
“When the clap back is spelled wrong too,” Nene responded alongside several laughing emojis. “I’m dying over somebody saying cigarette breath.”
“LMFAO Nene for the win,” wrote an Instagram user. “Aren’t they too d**n old to be acting a fool on social media,” added another.
The back and forth between Kim and Nene — who have been at odds since last season when Kim’s daughter recorded and shared a video of bugs in Nene’s new home — took some of the attention off of Shereé. However, the Wives, Fianceés, and Side-Chicks of Hotlanta author may not be paying too much attention to the drama anyway. Just yesterday the star took to Twitter, reminding everyone that she is grown and doesn’t need anyone to be “bothered” about her or her relationship with a man on the inside.
“Everybody seems to b so bothered by me and Tyrone…being married to a man living another life is not a relationship either!!” Shereé tweeted with the hashtags “#sweeparoundyourowndoorsteps” and “#yourhouseaintclean.” She added, “Im so over ppl thinking they can play dirty and talk reckless and b immune….well, ur NOT! Ive allowed many things to b said and tweeted over the years w/o a response but lately….#Igottime.”
