Remy & Pap are inviting you to their home for the holidays
We never would have expected Remy Ma and Papoose to be a gold standard of family and love before their stint on Love & Hip-Hop: New York. However, after watching them deal with great tragedy and make it through several seasons as a steady presence, the couple have proven to be just that. And they’re looking to bring a bit of their pixie dust to this holiday season with their very own Christmas special on their home network of VH1.
Remy & Papoose: A Merry Mackie Holiday will follow the couple as they try to throw together a family celebration for the holidays inside their new North Carolina home in just 72 hours. If anyone can handle it, we’re willing to bet that they can.
The special will air on Monday, Dec. 18, at 9PM ET/PT.
The special is the latest in a string of programs on VH1 and BET that are celebrating happy couples as opposed to dysfunctional ones. BET recently aired a special surrounding the ultra-opulent wedding of Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir. Even rumor mongers who thought that Mrs. Guwop was hiding children in Jamaica couldn’t derail The Wopster’s happiness.
Nothing But Positivity
Ka’oir had to fight off reports that she had left children in Jamaica when she moved to the United States. Ka’oir countered on The Breakfast Club that she left her home country when she was 10 years old, so any kids in the country couldn’t have been hers.
“I came to Miami when I was 10,” said Keyshia. “[It’s] absolutely false.”
She added that they both have children but they’re doing their best to keep them out of the limelight.
“Gucci and I both have children, we do,” said Keyshia. “It’s a situation where I’m proud to be a mother but at the same time I need it to be private. I don’t want kids in the limelight, I don’t want them on social media. I want them to go to school and just be children.”
Y’all can’t take Keyshia’s happiness and VH1 doesn’t want you to come for Teyana Taylor either. The network just gave the green-light to a program following the star and her hubby Iman Shumpert as they try to raise their young daughter. Shumpert explained the positive vibe of the show.
“When I look at reality shows it don’t look like reality to me,” Shumpert said. “It’s so important to be a positive representation of black love that my a** actually got on TV to do it.”
Teyana picked up the thread where Shumpert left off, trying to get a point across as Iman followed their daughter around the room with his eyes.
“Not even just Black love, all love. It’s to inspire love, period,” she said, trying to speak over Shumpert’s objections. “There’s nothing more special than showing young people that you can be in love.
What Do You Think?
Outside of her relationship with Papoose, Remy has no love for her fellow hip-hop artists. She recently came for long-time rival Nicki Minaj in a new song.
The rapper took several shots at Nicki in the song “Wake Me Up” including “That crown I’m gon take that sh*t/Cause you a clown and homey don’t play that sh*t” and “I heard he lay that d***/You let them filet that fish/You just met him how he bae that quick?”
