Not just their rhymes are sick...
Sure, a lot of rappers look as if their lives are perfect, but underneath all the fancy clothing and makeup, many of the them suffer from the same issues that some of the rest of the world suffers from. And just as with many things in life, illnesses do not discriminate against the rich and famous. Let’s take a look at these hip hop stars who suffer from chronic illnesses, we promise there will be many surprises along the way.
After being released from prison in July 2011, Earl Simmons, known by his rapper name DMX,began talking publicly about having bipolar disorder. He made it clear that he has trouble distinguishing the difference between Earl Simmons and his rapper self,”X.” Simmons said, “X, X is the bad guy. I used to be really clear about who was what and what each characteristics each personality had, but at this point I’m not even sure there is a difference.”
Rapper Chris Brown has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, severe insomnia and post traumatic stress disorder. His disorders help explain his anger related issues. According toTMZ and legal documentation, “Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD post traumatic stress disorder.”
The rapper was diagnosed with epilepsy and hospitalized for close to a week after three consecutive seizures. The attacks come on without any warning: “No warning, no nothing I don’t feel sick. I get headaches real bad. And the headaches? I didn’t get no headaches or nothing,” he told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway in May. “I go to sleep and wake up in the hospital. I don’t feel anything.”
