These MCs have similar styles
Rappers have been known to have the same styles occasionally. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn’t. Hip hop is sensitive that way. If the time is right, there can be room for multiple artists to adopt the same sound. Ja Rule and DMX, for example, both artists stand alone in their long-lived careers. In most cases though, there is only room for one. They may battle each other to be the best in their respective flows, but only one comes out on top. And for the record, let’s get real… there will always only ever be one Tupac Shakur.
We’ve put together a list of rappers who have often been mistaken for each other. Check out this line-up of rappers who sound alike.
ItsRoutine and Drake
Erykah Badu introduced ItsRoutine after he appeared on one of her tracks. Fans quickly compared him to Drake. Badu responded, “Its not Drake. It’s one of my artists named ItsRoutine. He’s on my label and he can do anything. He sounds like him sometimes. His name is Aubrey as well.” Alright, fair enough.
Your Old Droog and Nas
People originally thought that Your Old Droog was Nas, rapping under an alias. Conspiracy theories started to form online and that’s when Droog decided to reveal himself.
Young Thug and Lil Wayne
Young Thug has praised Weezy as his favorite rapper. He has said that Wayne hold all three spots in his top 3 favorites. Needless to say, his style is inspired by Wayne.
