Rappers take over Pennsylvania Ave.
After Michelle invited Common to perform at the House in 2011, the Obamas received a lot of backlash from the GOP. They blasted them for having a “vile rapper” perform. Common? Vile? But they were referring to the song he recorded in support of former Black Panther Assata Shakur, who was found guilty for the 1976 killing of New Jersey state troopers.
The Queen performed at the White House in 2010 alongside Bob Dylan and Jennifer Hudson.
Earlier this year, K dot was invited by one of his biggest fans, Prez Obama. He and his crew chopped it up with the president, were given a tour, and rapped along the way.
