Who is suing who?
Azealia and Diplo were both sued at the same time when they released their 2012 colab “F**k Up the Fun.” The project was hit with some serious lawsuits from Master D, a Dutch producer. According to Master D, Diplo took the beat after they couldn’t find an agreement, something Master D never agreed to.
Juicy J and DJ Paul
Juicy J had songs named “Pimps In The House” and “Listen to the Lyrics”, and both were said to be written and performed by 8ball & MJG. The case entered the scene in 2014, but nothing has really come from it since.
Even the biggest name in hip-hop right now, Kendrick Lamar, has been hit with lawsuits. His situation involved his debut album Section.80. Two former collaborators with Kendrick, Eric Reed and Willie Jones III, wanted their cut from Section.80, and even claimed that he ripped off their song “The Thorn” to end up making “Rigamortis,” which is one of the more popular songs on the album. They sued Kendrick for $1 million and tried to get the rights to the song, but failed.
