When will it end?
The rapper took to Instagram to write, “What the government is doing amongst our people is downright disturbing but not surprising. With all of the conflict and propaganda, I believe they are simply trying to start a civil war within the USA amongst black & white. They are simply pushing us to our limit so that we can all get together and rebel so that it makes it easier for them to kill us.”
Drake has been heavily criticized in the past for not speaking out on issues of injustice, but even he was moved to make a statement. The rapper wrote how he felt “disheartened, emotional, and truly scared” by the killings and how “no one begins their life as a hashtag, yet the trend of being reduced to one continues.”
Fab didn’t stay silent about the situation, stating, “Less than 24 hours!! Another black man killed at the hands of a police officer. This s**t is getting really spooky out here. The black man in America is becoming disposable by the Police!! These cops are walking away with no punishment or on paid leave while Black Men are being murdered, some even on camera!! Obama has got to do something about this before he gets out of office. Please @barackobama address this & Chicago’s street violence before you’re out of office. If you don’t, we have no chance in what’s to come. #RipPhilandoCastile.”
