A story recently came out involving R. Kelly, and things are taking a pretty interesting turn. A few concerned parents sent their daughters off with the singer to better their music careers, but they claim that something fishy is going on behind the scenes. The parents are accusing R. Kelly of running an “abusive cult” with these teen girls, cutting off their connection with the outside world. Recently one of these girls spoke out, and you’ll be interested to hear what she had to say.
The family of 21-year-old Joycelyn Savage has said that she’s being held against her will in a cult that R. Kelly is running. The parents claimed that Kelly was controlling when she would use her cell phone, use the bathroom, and talk to her own family. Not only has Kelly denied this completely, but he’s even considering taking some serious legal actions against the Savage family.
Setting Things Straight
The Savage family has pretty much been saying that Kelly is taking these young girls and turning them into his own personal sex slaves.
Jocelyn reached out to everyone in a video that she uploaded in an attempt to clear things up.
“I’m 21, I’m about to be 22 in about five days and i just mainly want to say that I am in a happy place with my life and I’m not being brainwashed or anything like that… It just came to a point where it definitely has gotten out of hand. So you know I just want everyone to know I’m totally fine. I’m happy where I’m at and everything is okay with me,” she said.
She’s then asked by a TMZ staff member if she’s being held beyond her will or anything like that. She responds, “Oh no. Not at all.”
She was then asked why her parents were coming out and making these claims at this specific time. “I don’t really know what’s going on with that… I’m very heartbroken over what’s going on with this situation because it’s getting to a point where it’s getting too much. It’s just not right,” she said.
When commenting on the last time she spoke to her family she said, “The last time I talked to my parents may have been about a good… on and off… about five to six months. I haven’t really spoken to them because they’ve been causing problems in my life about saying I’ve been a hostage and saying I’ve been held against my will and stuff like that.”
So this clears everything up… right?
