Calling Him Out
Chad “Pimp C” Butler was one of the biggest names in the hip-hop world back when he was in his prime. The rapper from Texas passed away at the age of 42 back in 2007, and everyone was hurt. He was a founding member of the Underground Kingz (UGK) and was best known for some of the great work that he did with fellow Texas rapper Bun B. Even though he may be gone, his wife is still here to defend him. After she heard one of Young Thugs lines in a new song, she came to her husband’s defense.
Chinara Butler, Pimp C’s wife, had some things to say about Young Thug recently on her Instagram, and it has the internet popping. Young Thug dropped Pimp C’s name on one of Chance The Rapper’s new songs, and she apparently didn’t like that very much.
The reference is to Pimp C’s verse in “Int’l Player’s Anthem (I Choose You).” On the UGK track, Pimp C rapped a line that went like this: “My b*tch a choosy lover, never f**k without a rubber, never in the sheets, like it on top of the cover.”
On Chance The Rapper’s track, Thugger spits the line: “Pimp C, I ain’t doing that, I’ma f**k her on the sheets, and all my n***as loyal like Bun B, hold on.” The reference is easy enough to get when it’s laid out in front of you, but Pimp C’s wife saw it from a mile away.
Certain Kind of Way
“I’m feeling a certain kind of way about Young Thug and Jeffery’s verse,” she said in her Instagram video. “He mentioned Chad, he said something like, ‘Pimp C, I ain’t doing that’ where he disagrees with it or whatever. My thing is if Chad was alive, you wouldn’t mention him in that song the way you did, so don’t do it now.”
She’s got a good point; if Pimp C was alive, Thugger would have stayed as far away from him as possible.
