“Stay tuned, motherf**kers!”
Cardi B recently won iHeartRadio’s Best New Artist award. The always-herself-and-never-anything-else rapper gave everyone a good dose of her personality, laughing and joking as she accepted her award.
The Bronx native — who “became the third artist and first rapper in history to place her first three Billboard Hot 100 entries in the chart’s Top 10 simultaneously” — thanked everyone who helped bring her to the top and finally gave an update on her first studio album.
“I’m going to thank a lot of people because a lot of people helped me with my success, so here it goes,” she began. The “Bartier Cardi” rapper went on to send shout-outs to her publicist, her team, her family, her fiancé Offset and Atlantic Records.
“I want to thank my fans, Bardi Gang,” she continued. “Cause even when I’m wrong they be like, ‘She still right.'”
Last but certainly not least, the rapstress thanked her “haters.”
“And I want to thank my haters too,” she said, pausing to laugh. “Because they be downloading my stuff so they can hear it and talk crap about it, but it benefits me!”
Before heading off the stage, Cardi made the crowd applaud one last time, saying, “My album will be coming in April.”
“Yes, sir. April,” she concluded. “Stay tuned.”
News of her highly-anticipated album comes on the heels of word that Cardi will have her own Fashion Nova line. After her curated collection with Steve Madden and her walk down the runway with Anna Wintour, the rapper is reportedly adding one more thing to her ever-growing résumé.
The rapper has yet to announce it herself, but theJasmineBRAND broke the news of her upcoming Fashion Nova line earlier this week. While there aren’t any details about what the line will consist of yet, there’s tons of proof that Cardi loves the online brand. On numerous occasions, she has spoken highly of Fashion Nova, shouting the retailer out in interviews and on social media. Her latest compliment towards the brand came in the form of an Instagram video.
All the Talents
Captioned “pulling up to the game in my @fashionnova!!!!” — referencing the NBA All-Star Game — the star shared how “rich people” like herself stay well-endowed. “Hello there minons,” she began in a joking tone. “You wanna know how rich people like me stay rich? By staying on a budget.” Sticking out a leg for the camera, she added, “These pants right here are Fashion Nova.”
In January, during an interview with Julie Adenuga on Beats 1, Cardi shined some light on Fashion Nova again, comparing it to high-end brands. “You wanna know something, Fashion Nova is one of the only thing(s) that just fits my body. These high-end designers I love them but, none of their jeans fit this a**,” she shared. “None of them.”
Despite what anyone says — looking at you Azealia Banks — Cardi is possibly on her way to building a fashion empire of her own. After all, once you rub shoulders with Anna Wintour, how far off could you be?
For now, all fans can do is wait on Cardi to grace the world with her finished projects. Keep your eyes peeled for both her Fashion Nova line and her album. Will you be bumpin’ Cardi in April? Tell us your thoughts in the comments and SHARE this article.
