YoungBoy is in a tough spot
Security footage has surfaced that shows a man alleged to be NBA YoungBoy (AKA YoungBoy Never Broke Again) slamming his girlfriend Jania on the floor of a hotel in Waycross, Georgia on Saturday, Feb. 24. In the video, he proceeds to handle her aggressively and seems to try to drag her back into what appears to be a hotel room.
Apparently, hotel guests heard the commotion and alerted the front desk — who called police to the scene — about the situation. Youngboy and Jania fled before police arrived on the scene, but along with the security footage, cops found blood in their room. The evidence they had was enough to issue a warrant for his arrest, which only added to his ever-growing rap sheet.

NBA YoungBoy was scheduled to perform that night at The Moon nightclub in Tallahassee, Florida, but was unable to after he was arrested by a police officer that encountered his tour bus. According to Leon County Sheriff’s Department inmate database, he was wanted in Georgia for kidnapping, weapons violations, and committing assault.
On top of these unfortunate circumstances, YoungBoy was on probation at the time of his arrest for his involvement in a non-fatal drive-by shooting back in 2016. According to police, he was one of the shooters in a vehicle holding three passengers suspected to be engaged in an act of retaliation from the murder of Keondrae Ricks earlier that day. Ricks, also known as NBA Boosie, was NBA Youngboy’s cousin and fellow rapper.
Jania Weighs In
After spending six months in prison awaiting trial, he was released on $50,000 bail, three years probation, and a suspended sentence of ten years in prison after pleading guilty to a count of aggravated assault. Originally, he had been held on $200,000 bond after being charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder. Although the change was an improvement, it only adds to his current legal troubles after his arrest in Tallahassee.
In what came as a shock to many, YoungBoy’s girlfriend Jania has taken to social media to express her side of the story, in which she defends her boyfriend and his actions. In an Periscope post by Jania, she says “Has [YoungBoy] ever put his hands on me? F**k no. Do we play a lot? F**k yeah.” See all of what she has to say in the video above.

While we hope that Jania is coming from an honest place, NBA YoungBoy’s past may make a lot of people question her credibility on this one. If you look for them, it’s not hard to find a range of different videos online that show NBA YoungBoy getting into scuffles, whether it’s at a performance or in a mall. Those, along with his criminal record, paint a picture in the public eye that isn’t exactly passive and peace-loving.
The timing of his current case is inconvenient, to say the least. He is supposedly scheduled to appear in court today, Feb. 26, while his latest album, titled Until Death Call My Name, is scheduled to be released on March 2. While this situation would be a lot to handle for most people, the fact that NBA YoungBoy is only 18 magnifies its intensity. He is truly a young boy, and to see him get locked up right when his music career is taking off would be a shame.
