Things got real, real fast
The drama continues to mount around anyone who has ever even crossed paths with Mona Scott-Young. Love & Hip Hop star Moniece Slaughter stopped by a relic from another generation of messy television and she brought her family along. Needless to say, things got heated.
Moniece went on Dr. Phil to encourage her brother to seek help for his mental health issues. However, the family reunion didn’t go quite according to plan. In a preview clip of the show, Slaughter walks away from her brother while calling him “mentally disturbed.”
“Maybe you should find some way to tap back into reality,” she adds, before storming off the stage.
The family tiff was shared in a teaser trailer for the upcoming month of Dr. Phil episodes. Also on the slate is a mother who provided her 14-year-old daughter with drugs and a father who may or may not have molested his toddler-aged daughter.
The blow-up on Dr. Phil isn’t the first time that Moniece has attempted to get her brother some help. She once put out an APB on him to fans.
“This is my younger brother. He’s been missing now for the past 3 weeks,” she wrote alongside a photo of her little bro. “If you see him anywhere. He’s mentally ill and we’ve not been able to get him properly treated. Police have told us we can not file a missing person’s report. They said he keeps getting detained so he’s not missing.”
Family trouble has been a running theme for Moniece. She recently shared that her son is picking up a bunch of stuff that she might not like, thanks to her online persona and presence on Love & Hip Hop. Apparently, her public life has bled into her private one and is affecting her relationship with her son.
“Ok so I just had a very real parenting moment and I’m hesitant to share it I’m going to anyway,” the star began in a recent post to her Twitter.
“[T]onight I mentioned that someone reached out to me to book a cast member that I’m not cool with. So I shut it down. Kam comes in the kitchen and says well if you don’t like her just say what you always say. So I ask what it is. He says just tell Her F you B word,” she continued in the post, upset that her son’s view of her was being affected by her portrayal in the media.
She concluded by letting fans in on a valuable lesson she’s learned over the years: you get what you put out. She concluded:
“Moms. I know it gets hard, it gets exhausting you slip up here and there. But we realllllly gotta make sure THAT EVERYTHING we do and say when they’re not looking is an accurate representation of what we want them to be.”
