The time has come once again for XXL to reveal the newest members of the XXL Freshman Class. This one will be particularly special since it marks the 10th anniversary of the Freshman franchise. With the first issue launching in 2007, the franchise has exploded into popularity throughout the last decade. While the players may change, the processes for selecting the members haven’t, and the search for the candidates includes an extensive process of interviewing rappers, industry influencers, and hip-hop heads to gather info about who’s who among rising rap stars. Once this is completed, the staff over at XXL then battle amongst themselves for whose name should actually make the list.
Even though the process itself may be tried and true, it never goes down without differing opinions on who actually deserves to make the cut. Ugly God (formerly known as Pussy Bacon) is a rapper and producer born on September 19, 1996 in Louisiana. As he grew older, Ugly God moved to what would become his hometown in Houston, TX. Before rap, Ugly God attended the University of Southern Mississippi and dropped out.
