Lil Wayne might have a fifth child
Lil Wayne already has four kids with four women, but — if you believe the testimony of yet another woman — he might be five for five. According to TMZ, Keiotia Watson claims that her son Dwayne was fathered by the rapper back in the early 2000s.
A judge in Louisiana ruled in favor of her claim related to the now 15-year-old boy, ordering Weezy to pay $5,000 per month in support. However, Weezy hasn’t given Watson one red cent.
The gossip website’s unnamed sources in Wayne’s camp say he has never forked over any money because he was never legally notified that he had to. They go on to say that Wayne will submit to a paternity test and, if he’s found to be the father of Dwayne, will pay anything that’s required of him.
Wayne personally has been dealing with the responsibilities of being a father for almost as long as we’ve known him; his third studio album 500 Degreez contained an ode to young fatherhood and his relationship with Toya Wright.
Though Wright has a 17-year-old daughter with Wayne, she recently announced that she’s pregnant with her second child in an over-the-top Instagram video that also promoted her parenting book that she co-wrote with Wayne’s daughter.
Can we trust him?
It’s hard to know if he will actually pay up, given how Wayne has waffled on obligations in the recent past. The rapper recently pulled out of a headlining slot at a festival in South Carolina because he refused to go through the venue’s security protocol.
While 2 Chainz, Cardi B and Tory Lanez still performed at the fest, fans were understandably miffed at Wayne and the venue.
“The safety of its patrons, its performers and its staff members is and continues to be the number one priority for Colonial Life Arena,” the venue said in a statement released shortly after the show. “While we regret the artist’s decision not to perform, Colonial Life Arena is not willing to bypass its security standards and jeopardize the safety of its patrons, performers, or staff members.”
However, Wayne has also shown a commitment to his work that he considers more important than his own health. Weezy has barely slowed down in spite of doctor’s request that he work less to mitigate the effects of his epilepsy.
“He’s a workaholic. That’s what got him to where he is now man. He’s just [in] the studio all the time trying to make music, get through this situation and give his fans what they need,” Weezy’s manager Cortez Bryant recently told TMZ. “He’s an epileptic, so that’s the reality of it. You know, so it’s something that we’re gonna have to deal with for the rest of his life and, you know, we’ll just make sure he’s popping meds and try to force him to get some rest, but sometimes he doesn’t do that.”
Bryant added that Wayne having seizures from overworking himself is probably something that fans should get used to hearing about, given the lifelong nature of his illness.
“He’s an epileptic. It’s a disease that he has to deal with,” he said. “It’s reality that this might not be the last time you see Lil Wayne having a seizure.”
