This is scary
It takes a lot for the cameras to stop rolling on the set of a Love & Hip Hop show. Producers of the long-running VH1 reality show have seen more than their fair share of fights, tossed drinks, and upended furniture, with cameras rolling through it all. But the show was forced to halt production today when one of their security guards was a victim of a hit-and-run in the Atlanta neighborhood of Buckhead.
The show was setting up to film in some nearby boutiques and a guard was blocking the area in front of a store so that the production crew could roll up. Because rich folks are the worst and will turn into monsters at the slightest inconvenience, a driver who was mad about the parking situation decided to barrel through the guard, injuring his left leg.
TMZ reports that the car then sped off before stopping at a nearby golf store. (Imagine feeling so above reproach that you still get your shopping in for the bougie-est sport after running over a pedestrian.) However, the suspect apparently came to their senses among the clubs and cleats. They fled before police could arrive but the gossip website says that store employees are working with police to ID the suspect. Another store shared its security camera footage with authorities.
The production shutdown isn’t the only startling extracurricular news to come out of the LHHATL offseason. Mimi Faust shared with Scientology and the Aftermath how her mother abandoned her for Scientology when she was just 13. Faust said that her mother joined that church’s Sea Organization. Faust explained that she was tossed out by the church when her mother made the decision and she refused to go along.
“They didn’t give me one red cent, not even a $1.50 to take the bus, or a blanket. ‘Here you go, go sleep on this park bench.’ Nothing. And then they sent people up to escort me out of the building, a 13-year-old,” she said.
Faust turned down a contract that would have made her a member of the organization for one billion years.
She also explained that any child who decides not to join the Cadet Org ― the organization that controls the daily activities of children of Sea Org members ― was labeled a freeloader and billed for not contributing to the group.
Faust said they attempted to keep her from leaving and made the decision to leave behind her own mother even more difficult.
“They close the door, lock it, and tape the contract to the door. And they’re all surrounding me at the door, and they’re chanting again. I just lost it. And after about a good 10 minutes of me going ape s**t, they let me out,” she explained.
Faust’s mother stayed with the Sea Org until her death. Now that she’s passed, Faust has felt it’s easier to criticize the religion in which she was raised.
“If you can’t keep a mother and child together, how are you supposed to unite the planet? Does that make any sense to you? Because it doesn’t make any sense to me at all,” she said.
