But he won't be gone for that long
The breakout rapper Kodak Black isn’t even in his twenties yet, but he’s still a full-grown man in the eyes of the law. After being found with weapons and illicit substances last year, he was forced on house arrest. He just couldn’t cope with staying at home when the nightlife called him, and he was arrested yet again. This time, he’ll have to stay in jail for a while, but it’s not as bad as it seems.
Dieuson Octave, a.k.a. Kodak Black, has been in jail since February, after being arrested in court for violating the terms of his house arrest by partying at a strip club.
He was originally sentenced to one year of house arrest and five years of probation in August 2016 for drug possession, firearm possession by a delinquent, robbery and fleeing a law enforcement officer. He could only leave his home for work purposes.
Kodak seems to have been drawing out his court appearances by pulling some unusual moves. During his sentencing hearing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he fired his two lawyers and replaced them with another lawyer. He also told the judge to go easy on him, saying, “Depending on the outcome of this, it could be the beginning of my career, or the end of my career.”
His new lawyer also tried to present him as a young man who doesn’t really know how to be an adult yet, saying he asked for a gaming console and cookies on his tour rider.
The Big Moment
Kodak was facing a whopping eight years imprisonment for the five counts of violating his house arrest, but someone was looking out for him because he was given a very light punishment…
