Twitter fingers turn to...
I remember the days when, if rappers had beef with each other, they solved it in person, backstage at an awards show, or better yet, on a diss track. Nowadays, these new rappers take to social media to air out their frustration. And of course, 140 characters aren’t enough, so they flood our timelines with dissected paragraphs.
Kid Cudi is the latest Twitter thug, who called out two of rap’s greatest artists, Drake and Kanye, out of the blue. I must’ve been in hiding, because last I knew, Cudi and Ye were on good terms, making G.O.O.D music together (see what I did there?). Well, word travels fast because it seems like hours after Cudi’s rant, both Kanye and Drake had a few things to say.
While everyone was minding their own business, pursuing their Twitter timelines, Kid Cudi barged in with numerous tweets about “haters within the industry” and “fake ones.”
“I need yall to know I got so many haters within the industry and these clowns know Im bout to crush their entire existance [sic]. Everyone thinks they’re soooo great. Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them,” he tweeted.
And this is just the beginning. Cudi ensued in what seems to be one of the longest rants ever. He literally blind-sighted fans when he began pounding is keyboard with these next tweets….
“Let me tell you something. The days of the fuckery are over. The fake ones wont be lasting too much longer. Im the one they worry about cause they know I dont give a fuck about the corny shit they do. All my youngins out here reppin, Asap Rocky and the whole ASAP family, Travis Scott, SuperDuper Kyle, Audio Push, Hit Boy, etc, I see y’all. And all u jealous chicken hearted shits I see you too. I am the culture. I keep silent because I dont ever wanna come off like some angry hater, but today, not only do I feel fantastic, Im feelin like taking over. I already have. My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye, Drake, whoever. These niggas dont give a fuck about me. And they aint fuckin with me. Niggas keep you close when they see how powerful you are by yourself. When they see your greatness. Out of fear. Ive been loyal to those who haven’t been to me and that ends now. Now im your threat. Anybody got a issue with my words im glad. If you feel me, dont be scared to use your voice. I was for so long out of blind loyalty. From here Ill let the music speak. As you were, peace and love to my supporters and true ones. Cudder Out,” he concluded.
But where did all of this come from?
That rant must’ve been on his mind something heavy because he began ranting well before noon. But it was very surprising to see him call out Kanye. Drake, eh. But Kanye? That’s weird because Cudi was featured on Ye’s latest Life of Pablo album. So this beef must be fresh.
But, after getting word that their names were in Cudi’s mouth, Kanye and Drake had time to address the rapper while both on tour. You won’t believe with Ye had to say…
