Kanye's Money Dispute
In case you haven’t heard already, Jay Z’s album 4:44 has had Hip Hop fans in a frenzy after Hov spit some choice words for Kanye West.
Jay airs the dirty laundry in his song titled “Kill Jay Z”. We’re all still kind of scratching our heads at this point, but as the drama unfolds we continue to discover new details. It was recently reported that Kanye left Tidal after a money dispute.
Here’s what we know.
TMZ recently reported that Kanye West may have a lawsuit against Jay Z in the works.
Kanye has allegedly been upset with Tidal for a while now and things appear to have come to a head. The timing is coincidental considering Jay just dissed Kanye on his new album.
In the song “Kill Jay Z”, Hov took a dig at Kanye with these lyrics:
“You walkin’ around like you invincible, you dropped outta school, you lost your principles/I know people backstab you, I felt bad too/But this ‘f*ck everybody’ attitude ain’t natural/But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe/But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye/You gave him 20 million without blinkin”/He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*ck was he thinkin’?/’F*ck wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’/But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.”
Yeezy claims that he is owed over $3 million.
Close sources say that Kanye’s lawyers have been in contact with Tidal for nearly a month. Both sides have been unable to come up with a solution, which led to Kanye’s people informing Tidal that his contract is dead.
Kanye’s latest album, Life of Pablo gained Tidal 1.5 million new subscribers. Allegedly Kanye was promised a bonus, but Tidal hasn’t paid up.
The sources also reveal that Tidal says Kanye wasn’t paid because he didn’t deliver the videos required by the contract. Yeezy says he’ll deliver them once he’s paid.
