Joey Bada$$ and Jay Z are both from Brooklyn, but Joey seems to think there’s a lot more tying the two together than just that. He’s said some interesting things over the past few years, but this is definitely the craziest claim he’s made. Jay Z is one of the biggest names in hip hop and a legendary rapper that will stand the test of time, so why would he let a 22-year-old rapper inspire his newest album?
So word on the street is that Joey Bada$$ inspired Jay’s new album 4:44… according to Joey Bada$$. The 22-year-old rapper from Brooklyn has always had a way with words, but this time around fans are calling him downright insane.
He’s been around the game for a while now, and he has his fair share of hits, but he’s still miles behind Jay-Z when it comes to… anything.
Days after Jay released his 13th album, the fellow Brooklyn boy Joey Bada$$ raised his voice to talk about some of his theories about the album. He took to Twitter, posting, “I think I figured it out… 4:44 is the 4th Blueprint.”
That’s not it unfortunately. Joey sat down for an interview with Montreality and offered some more interesting ideas about the album.
“I know I was an inspiration to that album. There’s nothing nobody can tell me. I put certain pressure on these OGs in the rap game… They know what they gotta talk about now, cause they got this young n***a Joey Bada$$ coming out talking about this sh*t before they got the chance to talk about it. It is what it is,” he said.
That’s some pretty crazy things to say for a 22-year-old rapper.
