Jim is staying positive though
On Christmas day, the country (or a huge chunk of it) rests. On the 25th of December, even Walmart is closed. However, on Christmas especially, the fire departments of various cities get no rest. Every year, about 200 homes burn to the ground Christmas morning. While that number is usually the result of Christmas tree that became too hot, that’s still a lot of costly damages.
Unfortunately, Jim Jones’ mom has been added to that statistic.
Jim Jones had one of the worst holidays imaginable. The Dipset rapper’s mother’s house burnt down during their holiday celebrations. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the fire.
Ever the striver, the rapper and reality TV star found a positive aspect of the terrible tragedy.
“We can always buy new houses new cars new everything but we can’t buy a new family,” he said in a video that he shared with the world, showing firefighters putting out the fire.
The tragedy comes at the tail end of an otherwise great year for the “Ballin” rapper. According to several gossip websites, the rapper was secretly married to his long-time girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin over the summer.
If that wasn’t enough, Dipset reunited, a move that many previously thought impossible due to the bad blood between Jones and Cam.
Jones explained how the pair fell out in an interview with Hot 97 just last year. He told the radio station that things started out fine between Cam and Jones.
“For the most part, me and Cam always had a strange relationship. Not in the beginning — in the beginning, we was like two peas in a bucket, f*ck it,” he said. “As time goes and you get money and you’re that young with so much power and nobody over you telling you what you should be doing, how you should be moving, you tend to separate. Money makes you your own man, especially when you make a sh*tload of it.”
Things started to sour when Jones was left off of the song “Oh Yeah” without his knowledge.
He recalled, “Somebody called me and was talking to me about the record and was like, ‘Yo, you know he took your verse off that record?’” The rapper continued:
“Because I didn’t hear the record — I just thought it was a Juelz and Killa record, respect, that’s Dipset all day. But then I was like, ‘What? Somebody pull the record up, lemme hear what record this is.’ And, lo and behold, it was the record I had jumped on. So, you know, when y’all ask about Diplomat records, there are Diplomat records [in existence]. Somehow, I’m not making the cut.”

Jones also said he wasn’t seeing his cut of Dipset merch or the Stance clothing line. However, it appears that Jim and Cam have put that in the past as the Harlem legends are recording again.
In spite of their former beef, Jones is sandwiched right in between Cam and Juelz Santana on their recent single “Better Have My Money.” Jones stresses the fact that things are as good as they’ve ever been in his verse.
“Still do Harlem in my flip-flops,” he raps. “Summertime, hopping out the ‘rari with the missing top.”
Check out Jones’ equally heartbreaking and inspiring video up top. Jones has yet to share what his family is doing in the meanwhile. However, he appears ready to rebuild. Here’s to hoping Jones and his family are able to quickly recover from this tragedy. Sound off in the comments with your thoughts and don’t forget to SHARE this article.
