This is shocking
Biggie doesn’t have the most stellar reputation with women. It’s well known that he had an affair with Lil Kim outside of his marriage to Faith Evans. Plus, Kim has gone on record about the various ways that the rap legend was abusive toward her. Even in that context though, Jermaine Dupri’s recent revelation that Big pulled a gun on Kim in the studio is a bit of a shock.
“I think he [Biggie] had fucked Kim’s sister,” Dupri said, as a possible explanation for what caused the bad vibes in the air. “This is in the music, though.” Dupri is referring to the song “Friend Of Mine” from Ready To Die. In the song, he raps, “She’s saying I dissed her ’cause I’m fucking her sister/ a message to the fellas, that really gets them pissed.”
For whatever reason the vibe was bad. Kim was working on her verse for the Usher song “Just Like Me,” and the mood was keeping her from working.
“Biggie pulled the strap on her,” Dupri said. “To get her to do the verse?” N.O.R.E. asked. “No, to let her know he’d kill her,” Dupri replied.
All Love Now
In spite of these clear issues, Kim still talks about Big in adoring tones. In her remembrance of the late rapper in VIBE, she said:
“I loved him with all my heart, like I had ever loved anyone in my life. I still feel his spirit with me, like right now he’s sittin’ right here. I could be on the toilet and I feel his spirit. I talk to him every night and I feel like he’s telling me a lot more of the truth. I just feel blessed because Biggie has been with me every step of the way.”
It seems like Biggie might have mellowed in the great beyond. He spoke to Kim through the Hollywood Medium Tyler Henry.
“It’s like Biggie came through as, like, a former lover, no different than any former lover would,” he said. “But he came through very strongly and acknowledging that he wanted her to know that they were soulmates and how much he loved her. And he acknowledged their relationship and how it kind of…how their last interaction was. He discussed some of the dynamics behind that and gave her a lot of closure and healing because, she didn’t obviously, because of the nature of his passing.”
That lovefest doesn’t extend to Biggie’s mother and wife though. Lil Kim has publicly feuded with the pair over the Notorious biopic.
“There’s nothing Faith or Ms. Wallace could do to stop me from reppin’ B.I.G. all day. I’m gonna always do that,” she said in an interview with Hip Hop Weekly. “They want to talk about people exploiting Biggie, to me this is the worst way you could exploit his name; by disrespecting people who was around him who he had major love for.
