Drake gave his fans an oldie but goodie. His new music is giving major throwback vibes.
Drake’s music video for his latest single “I’m Upset” gave fans one for the books. The setting of the video is a Degrassi high school reunion.
Lauren Collins, who played Paige Michalchuk, Shane Kippel, who played Gavin “Spinner” Mason, Miriam McDonald, who played Emma Nelson, and more were in the video. Scroll to the end of this article to watch the video for yourself.
Before the release of the music video for “I’m Upset,” Drake was facing a bit of bad press. As Pusha T put it, hip-hop is prepping for a “surgical summer,” as Pusha and Drake’s beef continues to escalate.
It started with Pusha accusing Drake of using ghost writers, led to Drake teasing Pusha about his age and album sales and (as of now) has resulted in Pusha drudging up Drake’s hidden son.
With the release of Push’s DAYTONA came some heavy hits towards Young Money’s Drake, Wayne and Birdman. “Infrared” accused Drake of having a ghost writer after it equated the “I’m Upset” rapper’s success with Trump’s presidential win. In the track, Pusha also head nodded Rick Ross’s “Idols Become Rivals” from 2017:
“Oh, now it’s okay to kill Baby
Niggas looked at me crazy like I really killed a baby
Salute Ross ’cause the message was pure
He see what I see when you see Wayne on tour”
