I don't think he's got a case for that amount
Frank Ocean has done so well for himself despite not having his father in life for whatever reason. Frank and other people close to him say that Calvin Cooksey chose not to be involved in his son’s life, but Calvin is taking to the court system to disprove that, and probably to get the paycheck of a lifetime. He’s willing to risk the little bit of love that Frank may hold for him by suing him for many millions of dollars over Frank’s childhood memory.
According to Frank, his father, Calvin Cooksey, wasn’t very involved in his upbringing since he was five years old. Frank claimed that the last time he saw his dad, Calvin just handed him a Swiss Army Knife and left.
But Calvin has made a few attempts to get to his son in recent years, but not in the most constructive way.
In 2014, we first heard about Calvin when he took out an absurd lawsuit against music producer Russell Simmons for $142 million dollars for bashing his parenting skills with Frank and basically saying that he was a deadbeat dad on his site the Global Grind.
Failing at Life
Calvin claimed that these allegations were unfounded because Frank’s “money-grubbing” mother kept him away. He also claimed that Russell’s lies cost him work, but during the proceedings, Calvin said that he couldn’t afford the court costs and was living in poverty, so his fees should be waived. It’s reported that he receives a social security disability check each month.
But this case isn’t the only money Calvin is trying to win. He’s resorted to suing his own son for millions…
