Did they go too far?
YoungBoy Never Broke Again is known more for his violent and dark lyrics than wooing the ladies. But that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have his fair share of obsessive female fans.
The rapper formerly known as NBA YoungBoy might have a song actually called “Murder,” but female fans weren’t taken aback when he hopped into the crowd at a recent set and caused them to go wild. They weren’t content to keep their lust for the rapper contained to the venue, however. YoungBoy had to run from obsessive fans outside of the venue who pulled his pants down as he attempted to leap over a fence and get away.
The whole event was captured in a post to Instagram. In the first part of the clip, YoungBoy leaps into the crowd and fans reach out to touch him. Several hands can be seen stroking his hair, neck and the back of his head. One fan even rubs their hand along the side of his face. The rapper would probably regret stirring the crowd up so much later when they pulled his pants off while he tried to flee.
While the timeline of the clip is unclear, it seems like YoungBoy is dropping over the fence to even more waiting fans. It then cuts to a shot of the rapper crowdsurfing on a small group of people and then shows the headrubbing from another angle. While we don’t know how it all went down, the fan dedication is not up for debate.

NBA YoungBoy is a 9th grade dropout who wrote most of his first album behind bars. He’s not exactly a boy band type of story. He’d put the “dangerous one” of any pop group to shame, but it’s clear that he still inspires the same sort of teenybopper devotion.
The rapper was arrested last year in connection with a drive-by shooting in Baton Rouge, LA. However, he posted bail and was released. Following his release, he changed his moniker to YoungBoy Never Broke Again as a way to celebrate turning his life around.
YoungBoy just released a new mixtape called AI YoungBoy, and he makes it clear that he has no intention of going back to prison.
Here’s a sample lyric from the song “Trappin’”:
“They gave up on a n*gga you know what I mean/Since younger than this I been chasing my dreams/On XXL, but not the magazine/Locked in that cell missed allot of things/Thinkin’ bout to take over the game/I gotta make my way outta the ring/My heart full of hatred, my chest full of pain.”
And it seems like his fans are just as devoted to seeing him on the outside as well. At least if he goes back he’ll have hella mail.
What do you think of YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s devoted fanbase? Is it weird that someone who largely raps about jail and violence would become a sex symbol of sorts? Did the fans take it too far by chasing him over the fence and snatching his clothes? Also, how did he get his pants back?
As for his actual music, what do you think of it? Do you think this young star will be able to stay out of trouble long enough to build a career?
