The devastation in Flint, Michigan rocked our country. In April 2014, the city of Flint suffered a water crisis. Its drinking water was contaminated with lead which put citizens in serious health danger. It resulted in several lawsuits and a water state of emergency.
Today, the city is still in trouble. Many Hollywood stars have used their celebrity to travel to the city to help families in need. Many have donated water and funds. Now, Eminem is using his fame and followers to do the same. The rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III, took to Instagram to enlist the help of his fans to do some good.
Kids in Need
Eminem has teamed up with Kids in Need Foundation to donate school supplies to kids in Flint, Michigan. There are a lot of families living in poverty in Flint, and the water crisis only made things worse.
With school starting this fall, the Detroit native posted a call for help to his millions of followers on Instagram.

“Continuing to keep Flint in mind. 90% of the kids in their public school system live in poverty – give us a hand getting all 5,500 students a backpack full of supplies. Link in the bio to donate,” Em captioned the photo he posted of him holding a black and red backpack filled with supplies.
