We waited nine months for Ciara and Russel Wilson’s daughter Sienna to be born and another nine for the couple to share photos of the infant. The musician finally shared the first ever photos of her daughter to her Instagram and added a heartfelt note to her baby on her app TraceMe.
“My Princess, it has been the sweetest joy having you in my life. Since the day you were born, watching you grow up has been the greatest blessing a mom could ask for,” she said in the letter. “I want you to know that Mommy will always be here for you, and that you never have an ounce of doubt of where to go to when you need an ear to listen, a hand to hold, or a shoulder to lean on. I got you!”
The photo shows Ciara looking regal as she sits with her daughter surrounded by gold frames and a piano.
In Her Own Words
It’s good to have Ciara back talking for herself again. Her 9-month absence has led to a lot of trash floating around about the happy mother. For one, Bow Wow went on an epic rant in which he tried to take credit for Ciara’s fame among other artists.
“They wouldn’t even know half these guys that they love today if it wasn’t for us,” he said on Instagram after the rapper was clowned ruthlessly for faking a photo. “We put Trey Songz, on his first tour ever. I put Omarion on his first tour ever. I put Chris Brown on his first tour ever, which was the ‘Scream’ tour you know what I mean? Ciara, first tour ever.”

Obviously, things are much more positive when Ciara speaks for herself. Take for example her interview with Time in which she talked about all the feelings that went into making her last album Jackie and the confidence she was feeling.
“If you’re a mom who’s been working her butt off and delivered a child and had to raise them, you are a B.M.F. It’s for any person who’s being courageous. If you feel a little insecure and a little doubtful, you need to look in the mirror and tell yourself, ‘I am a B.M.F.’ That’s the attitude you have to have,” she told the magazine.
That Ciara would project positivity is no surprise. She’s famously anti-cursing and her relationship with Russell Wilson was noted as much for its piety as the high profiles of its parts. She said that when she does choose to engage with the internet, she prefers to keep it nice.
“You can either allow social media to be helpful for you or it can be harmful. I like to let it be helpful. It allows me to have instantaneous interactions with my fans — you didn’t have that luxury before. It is cool when you put something up on Instagram and get the response right then instead of waiting to see what the world thinks tomorrow. I like how it allows me — a person who used to always be so private — the opportunity to grow and push myself,” she said. “Sometimes sharing a photo is really O.K. because you never know how it can inspire someone. Or writing a tweet of what your thoughts are — you can show people you feel what they feel.”
