Ciara is reportedly dragging Future, her ex and baby daddy, to court for repeatedly missing visitation days with their three-year-old son, Future Zahir Wilburn. According to the documents obtained by TMZ, the “King’s Dead” rapper misses about 37% of his scheduled visits (often at the last minute), throwing off Ciara’s schedule.
Ciara is calling for Future (née Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn) to do better.
According to the court documents, Ciara and Future’s three-year-old has health issues that have become worse due to traveling across the country. More than that, when the little one is in Georgia where Future lives, he’s spending more time with grandmother or great-grandmother than his dad.
The mom-of-two added that the constant traveling keeps her toddler extremely tired, leading him to lash out while at school. Ciara, who also alleged that she barely gets to FaceTime her son while he’s in his dad’s care, is hoping to work out a new and improved visitation schedule in court.
Unfortunately for Future, the court docs caused quite a rukus, with several outlets circulating the story. Just last year, someone else was calling him out…
Producer Rocko wanted millions from Future after the rapper cut him out of a deal with Epic Records. The situation ended with a lawsuit that lasted over a year.
Everything was all cool between Future and his producer/friend Rocko… until the “Squares Out Your Circle” rapper found out Future had made a side deal with Epic Records. While details on the deal were scarce, the side-piece reportedly cut Rocko out of millions.
For the betrayal, Rocko took Future to court, seeking $10 million. Shortly afterwards, Future and his legal team came back with a countersuit, claiming that the contract didn’t make the duo exclusive.
After an 18-month legal battle, the case finally came to a close. While specifics were vague, TMZ said Rocko’s lawyers were content with the “very successful result.” The gossip site’s sources claim the payout is seven figures but wouldn’t give an exact number.
Solid news of Rocko and Future’s settlement came after several rumors. During the spring of 2017, MediaTakeOut sparked rumors that the two had settled, claiming Future would have to pay Rocko all royalties on his next two albums.
Of course, fans ran with it. Once the news got back to Rocko though, he shut them down. “WHO COMES UP W/ THESE STORIES THO??” he wrote on Instagram. He then tweeted, “NOT SURE WHO CAME UP WITH THAT PHONY STORY BUT IT IS FALSE!”
Shortly before that, Future was mourning the loss of his engineer. Atlanta rap scene fixture and Future’s personal engineer Seth Firkins passed away in September of 2017. The 36-year-old’s death shook the hip-hop community — especially the intimate circle of hip-hop in Atlanta. Everyone from Mike Will Made It to Zoey Dollaz offered a tribute to Firkins, but none was more heart-felt than Future’s.
“I always gave racism a cold shoulder because my real brother Is a white guy by the name of Seth Firkins,” he began the lengthy Instagram post. “I got a call saying u died in your sleep? First thing came to my mind is, why are you sleep at 5am? That’s when we record our best shit & I tell u ‘don’t’ fall asleep we got more work to do.. but somethin told me I should’ve been at home recording for some reason.”
According to Future, just as he was on his way inside when the “bad news beat [him] home!” The rapper said that the love he had for Firkins is unmatched before proclaiming that he “will cherish [Firkins] forever.”
“I just wish u would’ve text me & told me u was going to sleep and i wasn’t going to be able to wake u up this time,” Future concluded. “Rest well my brother. Rest well.”
