"Weird A** Fan Pages"
After a Nicki Minaj “stan” tagged Cardi B in a disturbing post, the soon-to-be mom lashed out on Instagram. In a since-deleted post, the rapper showed the lengths strangers, or in this case “weird a** fan pages,” go to out of hate for her.
“I don’t pay attention to these weird a** fan pages cause they be saying s**t that don’t make no sense and have no life.,” Cardi began in the caption of the post. “This mother f**ker right here got my tight.”
Alongside a clip from the movie Legion — the errie scene when an older women tells a young pregnant female that her baby is going to “burn” — Cardi continued, “You people are f**king miserable. Report this page !! People with no sense no heart shouldn’t have access to the internets.”
“Ya becthinking s**t is a game ya don’t show ya f**kin face you f**kin weirdos. Hope your mom die slow,” she added.
While some Barbz found it hilarious, others thought dragging an unborn child into things was crossing the line. A few Nicki Minaj fans took to Twitter to speak out.
“I’m a Nicki Fan but i don’t hate you,” one tweeted to Cardi. “I am actually starting to feel for you. Your baby should be what matters, you enjoying your pregnancy is what matters take care of you hell wit wat the world has to Say u on top enjoy it u made it.”
“Okay listen barbz Don’t let this flop Bc the Barbz need to see this. So I know we dislike Cardi but wishing death, saying her baby is gonna die? Hell no,” wrote another. “Don’t use the ‘well she lied and her stands blah blah’ excuse. who tf told y’all to wish death on a unborn child? Y’all nasty.”
Nicki and Cardi have been circling the entrance of Beef City for a while, with media and fans alike consistently prodding a disagreement between the two. After the “Chun Li” rapper did a tearful interview with Beats 1, they finally got the ammunition they needed…
“With Cardi B, she’s done exactly what she should have done. She’s just gone full steam ahead, and congradulations to her,” Nicki began during her convo with the outlet. “The only thing with Cardi that really, really, really hurt my feelings was the first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out.”
Rocking a fresh face and long black hair, Nicki used her own experience in the rap industry as an example before making her point about Cardi. She remembered herself as young artist, saying, “I remember when I first came in the game, if a female of that stature had done a feature with me on it, I would only be singing their praises and saying thank you.”
Referencing Cardi’s radio interview with UK’s Capital Xtra, Nicki continued, “The first interview [Cardi] did after ‘MotorSport’ came out… It just really hurt me. Cause she looked so aggravated and angry.” She added, “The only thing she kept saying was ‘Oh, I didn’t hear that,’ ‘I didn’t hear that verse,’ ‘I didn’t hear that,’ ‘She changed her verse.’”
As mentioned by Nicki, merely weeks after “MotorSport” was released, Cardi told Capital Xtra‘s host, “When I heard the track, her verse wasn’t finished — well, it’s not the verse that is out right now — and Quavo told me to get on the song and I just felt like it was a perfect opportunity for me to be on a track that’s big like them… Cause those are two big people.”
After sharing that she felt “ambushed” after the track’s release, Nicki talked about the aftermath of Cardi’s interview and the effect it had on her.
“At the time I went on Twitter, and I explained how ‘MotorSport’ came about. And, you know, people were saying that I was lying,” Nicki continued. “So I texted Quavo, and I said ‘Hey, could you back me up on this? Because, you know, I don’t want people to think I’m lying. What do I have to lie about?’ And he didn’t back me up. He texted me, and he was like, ‘I would go on Twitter and back you up if you were my girl lol.’ And that hurt, because I love him.”
She continued, “Quavo told me, ‘I’m not gonna go on Twitter and address that s**t man. If I do a interview, then I’ll address it.’ And I was like, ‘Yikes.’”
“It hurt my feelings to know that people would watch me be slaughtered, and not one person will step in to say the truth. They will run with that lie […] because it’s entertaining to make Nicki like a bad guy,” she said.
