Fans are not happy with the self-proclaimed Trap Selena right now. After Cardi B’s music video for “Bartier Cardi” didn’t air on VH1 as expected, Bardi Gang got… upset. Countless people wanted to know why the rapper falsely advertised the release of her video, blaming her for leading fans on.
According to Cardi herself though, no one should have been expecting the video since she didn’t promote it on her own social media. “I never posted it on my page,” she responded, adding that she “clearly” didn’t promote the release for a reason.
“A No Go”
“My video is not done with editing yet,” she went on. “[…] I don’t know who confirmed with the network about putting my video out. Somebody did a mistake so it was a no go.”
After a fan said the New York rapstress is “just as guilty of starting the rumor” because she failed to correct the news after it spread through the internet, Cardi clapped back, saying she’s not “guilty of s**t.”
“I’m changing management so a lot of things is all over the place,” she added. “You don’t know about my business life and what’s going on. That’s why if IS NOT ON MY PAGE THEN IS NEVER A GO.”
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper vehemently defended herself, but it was no use. Fans weren’t accepting anything less than the video itself.
Best New Artist
Just yesterday (Mach 12), fans were hyped about hip-hop’s latest winning iHeartRadio’s Best New Artist award. During her acceptance speech, the Bronx native — who “became the third artist and first rapper in history to place her first three Billboard Hot 100 entries in the chart’s Top 10 simultaneously” — thanked everyone who helped bring her to the top and finally gave an update on her first studio album.
“I’m going to thank a lot of people because a lot of people helped me with my success, so here it goes,” she began. The “Bartier Cardi” rapper went on to send shout-outs to her publicist, her team, her family, her fiancé Offset and Atlantic Records.
“I want to thank my fans, Bardi Gang,” she continued. “Cause even when I’m wrong they be like, ‘She still right.’”
Last but certainly not least, the rapstress thanked her “haters.”
“And I want to thank my haters too”
“And I want to thank my haters too,” she said, pausing to laugh. “Because they be downloading my stuff so they can hear it and talk crap about it, but it benefits me!”
Before heading off the stage, Cardi made the crowd applaud one last time, saying, “My album will be coming in April.”
“Yes, sir. April,” she concluded. “Stay tuned.”
News of her highly-anticipated LP comes on the heels of word that Cardi will have her own Fashion Nova line. After her curated collection with Steve Madden and her walk down the runway with Anna Wintour, the rapper is reportedly adding one more thing to her ever-growing résumé.
The rapper has yet to announce it herself, but theJasmineBRAND broke the news of her upcoming Fashion Nova line earlier this week. While there aren’t any details about what the line will consist of yet, there’s tons of proof that Cardi loves the online brand. On numerous occasions, she has spoken highly of Fashion Nova, shouting the retailer out in interviews and on social media.
