Protect Cardi at all costs
As part of the Dex Meets Dexter Tour, Charly Black, Lil Pump, YFN Lucci, Cardi B, and, of course, Famous Dex performed at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY this past Saturday (Oct. 21). The stars showed up and showed out for Albany natives, having a relatively peaceful concert.
Drama didn’t break out until early Sunday morning, after Cardi B was woken up and informed that she and her crew had been asked to leave their hotel. The Hilton Albany staff claims they received a noise complaint about Cardi and her entourage’s rooms, but Cardi thinks otherwise!
Early in the AM
According to a report from TMZ, Hilton Albany staff members got a complaint around 1 a.m. that there was an “odor of marijuana and [a] loud party on the second floor.” Staff contacted the police, but asked Cardi’s crew to leave the property before the officials arrived. By the time officers made it to the hotel, Cardi’s crew — including her manager, Shaft
— were already packing up.
Responding officer Steven A. Smith claims the group was nothing but cooperative. “When the officers arrived at the second floor room, Cardi B’s crew and manager were already preparing to pack up and leave the hotel, because they were informed to do so by hotel management prior to the police arriving,” Smith said.
As the Bardi Gang was escorted off the premises, Shaft reportedly went back upstairs to tell Cardi what was going on. Naturally, all hell broke lose when the 25-year-old “Bodak Yellow” rapper awoke to the news that her group was being escorted out of the hotel. Things got even more heated when she found out why they were being put out.
Where’s the weed?
Then, the latest TMZ video of Cardi going off was born. In the short clip, you can hear the “Foreva” rapper yelling at the staff, calling someone a “white piece of s–t” and a “racist muthaf–ker.” Afterwards, she storms out next to an unidentified male and purposefully knocks a drink out of the man’s hands.
Sources (and Cardi herself) say that the former Love and Hip Hop: New York star and her group were the only people of color on the floor. While they did admit to possibly being a little loud, according to Cardi, they were not smoking weed.
“The floor that I was staying in in my hotel room, it smelled like weed. So the cops came in the middle of the night, knocking on my manager and on my door, talking about that we were smoking weed and we gotta get kicked out,” Cardi said afterwards in a now-deleted Instagram video. She continued:
“Now, if you know me, I don’t even talk about smoking weed because everybody knows that I do not smoke weed. I get very paranoid and none of my team members smoke weed. If they was to kick us out for something else, all right, but for weed? I’m not taking that because we do not smoke. I could get, we could all get drug-tested, nobody smokes. Nobody smokes, especially when I’m sleeping and I’m wild sick.
You’re not going to do that to me. Mind you, everyone on the floor was Caucasian. But you wanna kick us out? F–k out of here. I will not.”
Hilton Albany has not released a statement or responded to the incident in any way. According to Officer Smith, “[Cardi] was rightfully upset with hotel staff, who again made the decision they had to leave,” so they might not have anything to say to defend themselves.
Cardi doesn’t play behind the Bardi Gang. She recently went off on a fan in the middle of a show because he was throwing champagne on her crew. She was quoted as saying:
“If you can throw this motherf–king champagne, then we can throw these motherf–king hands. I don’t give a f-ck. I don’t give a f-ck, my n*gga. I don’t give a f-ck what you paid for, n-gga. You can see me in New York. I don’t care. It’s not that serious. But you not gonna be disrespecting my f-cking people.”
