Shutting It Down
Amidst claims that Offset and 22-year-old Instagram model Celina Powell had a baby together, Cardi B is shutting out the drama. The star, who is pregnant herself, hopped on Twitter to low-key chime in on the rumors surrounding her fiancé and baby daddy.
According to the Invasion of Privacy artist, everyone can relax because Powell’s claims are super “fake.”
Lies & Fairytales
Powell, who is claiming to be the mother of Offset’s fourth baby, recently forced the rapper into a DNA test via a court order. When the results allegedly came in, the mom-of-one shared them with the world.
In a now-deleted Instagram posted, the test results confirmed there is a “99.99% probability that the Obligor (Offset) is the biological father of the child.” This would have meant big problems for Offset, whose cheating scandal just barely subsided. However, Twitter had the “Met Gala” rapper’s back. Many users on the platform blasted Celina after they put a few key sketchy facts together.
First, viewers noticed that the word “individual” was spelled wrong, throwing the validity of the entire thing into questioning. Next, the date noted on the sheet validating Offset’s fourth child and the date Celina reportedly served him the paternity test request didn’t line up. Lastly, everyone collectively remembered that this isn’t Celina’s first time falsely accusing someone of fathering her child. She’s previously said she was pregnant for Fetty Wap and Chief Keef respectively.
Regardless, Mama Cardi isn’t worried. When XXL Magazine posted their article on the event, Cardi shot back.
“Why would ya post this knowing that s**t is wild fake,” she tweeted the outlet.
Fans backed her up, of course. “That s**t is fake! Individual is spelled wrong,” wrote a Twitter user. “Ya can’t get paternity results back in two days.” “XXL stop posting fake s**t,” wrote another.
Rather than waste a ton of time worrying about Powell and her “wild fake” claims, the expecting mother is settling in to have her own baby in peace, cancelling the rest of her shows until the fall.
Just last week, Cardi hit Instagram to announce that this year’s Broccoli City Festival, which went down late April, was to be her last performance “for a little while.”
“Because, you know, shawty keep growing,” Cardi said before revealing that despite how she’s been looking on stage recently, “a b***h barely can breathe.” “I wanna thank y’all for understanding,” she continued. “Thank you very much. I f**king love y’all motherf**kers.”
The rapstress — who finally and officially shared the news of her little one during her performance on Saturday Night Live in April — made sure to tell fans that they can still expect to see her alongside Bruno Mars on his 24K Magic World Tour. According to reports, the star will be two months post-birth when the string of performances kick off in September.
Starting in Denver, the tour will last for several weeks afterwards. So far, tour stops include Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Tennessee and more. The duo is also projected to stop in Canada for two nights.
If Offset (née Kiari Kendrell Cephus) is to be the leader-of-five (including Powell’s baby and Cardi’s unborn child), he will need to be more responsible. Just over the weekend (April 28), Offset, alongside Takeoff and Quavo, were embattled in a full on brawl at Drai’s Nightclub at the Cromwell in Los Vegas.
According to what sources on site told The Blast of the fight, things didn’t settle down until LVMPD arrived. Afterwards, the source speculated that someone in the Migos’ crew was ticked for the fight rather than one of the star’s themselves.
Cardi, who is at the tail end of her pregnancy, was present during the fight. The expecting-mom was rushed inside the lobby of the hotel by her security team. She was held there until the scene was tightly secured.
