This could be all bad.
This week, Kim Kardashian put the internet into a frenzy after she released footage of Kanye West on the phone with Taylor Swift where he tells her about his “Famous” lyric in which Taylor is mentioned. The video comes after the pop singer denied knowing of Yeezy’s “Famous” track, and the line, and even bashed him in the media for it. Kim was sick of Taylor playing victim at her husband’s expense, so she released the footage with hopes that people would see the truth about her months of lies. Unfortunately, there could be a hefty price to pay for Kim and Kanye’s involvement in Taylor being exposed.
Kim released the footage to Snapchat this week
The reality starlet took to her Snapchat to post the footage of Kanye talking to Taylor. In the video, T-Swift can be heard thanking Yeezy for letting her know about the lyric where he rhymes, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.” She even agrees that she will own up to knowing about the lyric when the song is released. Unfortunately, the opposite ended up happening.
Taylor is seeking legal charges against the couple
Since Kim shut down the internet with the footage, Taylor has responded with a statement claiming that she didn’t know Kanye was going to call her a “b**ch” and say that he made her famous. Now, the singer is seeking to press charges on the couple, as she believes the video was recorded illegally and without her permission.
Reports say that they legally recorded the video
According to TMZ, the footage is legal, as it was evident that Taylor was aware that her conversation could be overheard by others, as she was on speaker phone. Rick Rubin was also in the room, as seen in the footage, and, according to TMZ, who has heard the whole video, he interjects multiple times in the conversation. The site reports that recording “confidential communication” is only a crime if the person does not know the conversation is being recorded.
