Get a job, Bob!
Bobby Shmurda plead guilty to one count of third-degree conspiracy and one count of weapons possession in 2016. That led to him being sentenced to up to seven years in prison. That’s a pretty long time. While he might get out in as soon as three years, it’s no secret that he won’t be making any Friday night plans anytime soon. So what is there to do in prison for seven years? Get a job, of course!
Shmurda got locked up in jail for some pretty serious crimes. Even though the sentence is seven years long, he’s being given credit for two years and could be out as soon as 2019 (if he’s on his best behavior). What could he possibly do to show that he’s serious about getting out early?
The 22-year-old couldn’t find a rapping job in prison, so he setteled for a clerking job instead. Technically he’s still making money, probably just not a lot of it. Bobby is working in the Clinton Correctional Facility commissary in New York, and he’s getting PAID.
Okay, maybe not that much. The rapper is slated to make between 10 and 25 cents per hour, which adds up to about $7.75 a week at most. I’m pretty sure that’s not what he’s used to making outside the pen. It’s something, but is it really worth it?
